Description
This area covers routes found on the ridge extending southwest from the Windy Point parking area. The two exceptions to this are Iranian Wall and Czech Wall. These are backcountry crags and not a part of Windy Point West per se; they are included here because these crags are traditionally accessed via Windy Point West.
Windy Point is a vista/overlook spot where one can see the entire Tucson valley, making it a popular stop for tourists. Parking and bathrooms can be found here, as well as a plethora of high quality climbing routes.
If you are looking for a very high concentration of easily accessible three and four star routes, then Windy Point West may fit the bill. This area is also home to Beaver Wall which boasts most of the hardest routes on the mountain. A great diversity of trad, sport and mixed climbs can be found here making it a popular destination for climbers at all skill levels.
