Description
Getting There
There are three ways to do it
Take a boat. Park at Jenny Lake. Take a boat to the west dock (15 dollars) From here, take a right going north, then a left up some switchback on a horse trail. After about a half mile, the trail levels out and meets with the main cascade canyon trail. Follow the trail for about a half mile, the large talus field is on the right (north) side of the trail
Hike from string lake. This adds about 1.7 miles of walking one way. Follow the trail south from String Lake, past an inlet and around Jenny Lake. Get in early, parking is limited. Take a right before the west boat launch. If you get to the boat launch you have gone too far. From here, take a right going north, then a left up some switchback on a horse trail. After about a half mile, the trail levels out and meets with the main cascade canyon trail. Follow the trail for about a half mile, the large talus field is on the right (north) side of the trail.
3rd way. Less parking issues same amount of trail time. Turn left at Lupine Meadows Parking area road. Drive across Cottonwood Creek. Drive west until road turns south toward the Grand Teton and park at the ‘moose ponds’ at the west most bend in the gravel road. Hike west and then west north west and NNW on valley trail to Hidden Falls and up to boulder field.
