Yosemite National Park has yearly closures for Peregrine Falcon Protection March 1- July 15. Always check the NPS website at nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/… for the most current details and park alerts, and to learn more about the peregrine falcon, and how closures help it survive. This page also shares closures and warnings due to current fires, smoke, etc.
Description
Showed up to climb Central Pillar and there are six teams in front of you? Nowhere to go? Don't despair! This is just the route for you!
Follow 8 bolts and one fixed pin up the face to the anchors (rings). Excellent quality, golden Middle Cathedral granite. This is a "Yosemite Sport Climb", in that while it has bolts, it's still 9 fixed placements in just shy of 35m, and not really a sport route.
And there are Chicken Tendies on the menu at the Village Cafeteria to enjoy as you bask in the after-glow!
Location
This line climbs directly up the middle of the golden slab to the left of the Kor-Beck. From Central Pillar, hike up and left Kor-Beck (3rd class scramble). The slab is in the big recess to the left of Kor-Back. This route follows the bolt line up the middle. There are two older bolted lines to the left and right.
