Description
Chulilla is a huge new climbing area that is very close to Valencia (45 minute drive). The routes are long, the rock is good, and the development is picking up. There is a gigantic roof in the Castillo sector that allows you to climb in tufas in a total downpour at moderate grades. The are many many sectors, and with all of the new development it would be impossible to log them all here. Check the website for more info:

Need a job while in town? Somewhere to make a few extra bucks or even practice your Spanish maybe?
There’s a cafe in Chulilla’s plaza / town square called Ca barbara. (across from the climbing shop). Ca barbara is the 1st cafe in the square closest to the fountain & owned by a German women named Dagmar. She’s always looking for help, either in the kitchen, or serving tables or even help with setting up tables or food prep. Her English is great so it is the perfect place to balance your English, Spanish or German while interacting with locals and practicing the local language.
Giving back to the community becomes very important especially when we travel and are fortunate enough to enjoy all that local climbing areas have to offer. Even if you don’t need a job, take a rest day to volunteer your time and give back to this wonderful community. It can be a great way to get to know all that this area has to offer. I volunteered some time to help fulfill a need here in Chulilla and I hope you'll join me too.
Getting There
By far the easiest and fastest way to get to Chulilla is by car, as it is a small town and public transport is limited.
Valencia is located about a 3.5 hours drive from Barcelona. It is also possible to book a cheap flight there, then take the train to Valencia or rent a car.
Keep in mind that there are about 40 euro worth of tolls between Barcelona and Valencia. You can avoid them, but it adds about an hour drive to your journey.
By Train
If you’re taking public transport, by far your best option is to take a train directly to the Valencia train station.
By Bus
f you’re coming from public transport, first arrive at Valencia’s main bus station.
From here, the company “Hispano Chelvana” has a daily bus which leaves at 6:30pm.
This will drop you off in Chulilla around 7:40pm.
There is a bus every day which passes through Chulilla at 8:20am which will get you to Valencia at 10:00am
