Description
The Garnet Canyon rock climbs are located in Garnet Canyon, west and north of Disappointment Peak. They are a series of towers and ridges located west of Irene's Arete of Disappointment Peak. These towers are known as Fairshare Tower, Red Sentinel, Pemmican Pillar, and Okie's Thorn. I will also add Teepe Pillar and Glencoe Spire to this list as well. Although part of the Grand Teton massif, they truly are separate climbs with their own summits.
The rock quality in this region varies from excellent to moderate with the typical loose blocks and debris found on ledges. All of these climbs are multi-pitch alpine routes with a general southern exposure. A great place to climb if you do not have a full day, or a questionable weather forecast.
These climbs are lower elevation than the higher peaks of the region making for excellent day climbs from the valley floor, or a high camp in the Canyon.

Getting There
To get here, park at the Lupine meadows trail head and hike up the Garnet canyon trail. Follow the signs and hike past Disappointment Peak on your right then passing the Meadows camp on the left. Continue hiking up the trail towards the Lower Saddle and the Petzolt Caves camp. After the camp, you may pick your best approach option depending on the route of your choice, but will most likely be heading straight up towards the Teepe Glacier. To head up to the Teepe glacier, cross the outlet creek in the talus field a10 minutes above the Caves and turn right on the climbers trail. Then turning off the trail to gain the route of your choice.
