Description

The Main Wall of High Rappel Dell is perhaps the most striking wall in the Dell’s area. The area has both a colorful climbing history and a checkered past of access issues, though generations of Prescott climbers have established routes on this wall in all manner of styles. This clash of ideals sometimes ended with combative periods in time when new routes fell under close scrutiny, and both routes and anchors have been chopped, rebolted, and sometimes chopped a second time. Despite the bolt wars, the access issues, and the irritating placement of the highway, Prescott climbers refuse to let this crag go and for good reason.

Getting There

From Prescott head N on HWY 89, passing Watson Lake on the east. As you enter the Dells, you will eventually drive right below the cliff. Park in dirt lot north of the formation just off Granite Gardens Drive.
