Description

To start, this area is NOT on the highway, but you do drive on the highway to get there.

The Hotdog Wall will change your life, forever. One gleeful jaunt up Falls Creek lies one of the best sport cliffs in SC AK. The Hotdog Wall hosts a handful of harder sport climbs and features generally pretty good rock. There are also some projects and potential for new routes.

Also note, most the routes start from a ledge, which you can climb an approach pitch to access. We usually just hangout on the ledge (it’s a good one). Make sure you’re clipped in!

The season for the Hotdog wall lasts from may to sometime in the fall. Travel up to the wall is usually best earlier in the year before the alders grow too thick.

Getting There

Park at Falls Creek and start the walking up the trail. After ~20min you will reach the top of a mound (pretty good mound), and will see the wall up on the hillside. Make note of the drainage you need to walk up. From the mound, continue up the trail for 5 more minutes until you reach 3 REALLY BIG trees. Then, head into the woods on the right and boot up the avalanche path. Hike the avalanche path until you’re under a large boulder on your left. A small creature path goes under the boulder and will lead you to the wall. In total, the approach takes 45min to 1hr.
