Description

Prominent peak on the north side of the cirque above Hanging Canyon.

Summit yields fine views to the north of Mount Moran, to the south of the Cathedral group.

Across Lake of the Crags from Rock of Ages and Symmetry Spire.

Popular as a shorter day peak bag. Also has some some obscure, harder fifth class routes on the north aspect.

Getting There

The popular, easier summit routes are approached from Hanging Canyon while the north facing routes are approached from the Rockchuck Peak side.

The boat ride across Jenny Lake makes for an easier day...and provides a short, easy hike to the bottom of Hanging Canyon.
